The Carrathool WG Parker Memorial Library is located at 175 High Street Hillston and is a multifunctional facility for all members of the community, incorporating Library Services, Rural Transaction Centre Services and is a Centrelink & Medicare Access Point.

Carrathool Shire Council is a member branch of the Western Riverina Library Service. Membership to the library allows the public free access to e-resources check out online services for more information.

The Library maintains a reference collection of local history materials for use by members and visitors within the library.

Our collection includes books, files and microfilm copies of the Hillston News 1882 – 1883 Hillston Spectator from 1898 to 1952. Digital copies of both papers are available to view in the library with the Spectator from 1898 to the present day.

Historical photographs are available to view online from the library catalogue and the library has for sale copies of “Where the River Divides” for anyone wishing to obtain a written history of Hillston and District.
